 “THAT’S THE WAY LOVE IS” – TEN CITY TO PERFORM IN JOBURG AT THE DStv DELICIOUS INTERNATIONAL FOOD AND MUSIC FESTIVAL

Johannesburg, 22 August 2019: The DStv Delicious International Food and Music Festival is mixing even more spice into their star-studded line-up by bringing our favourite Kalawa Jazmee Records’ artists to appear in their 25 Year Anniversary performance, as well as the international R&B and House trio TenCity to the Delicious Main Stage, to get the festive crowds up and jamming.

The famed food and music festival will see a record-breaking gathering of performers unite on the 21st and 22nd of September at the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit.

To amplify this sensory indulgence and in celebration of Heritage Weekend, as well as their 25-year anniversary as a game-changing record label, Kalawa Jazmee Records will blow the crowd away with apulsating selection of their most time-honoured acts. On Saturday 21st this iconic label, a pioneer in redefining the nation’s urban culture and who sparked the original explosion of Kwaito, Houseand Afropop, will present no less than 23 acts.

The bosses of “KJ Records”, Oskido, Mahoota, Spikiri and Mjokes will blast out indigenous house and kwaito rhythms along with their All-Stars including: DJ Zinhle, Thebe, Tamara Dey, Alaska, BOP, Vetkoek vs Mahoota, Don Laka, Winne Khumalo,T’zozo, Professor, Uhuru, Heavy K, Nokwazi, Dr Malinga, Character, Candy, Mafikizolo, andBusiswa, along with ground-breakers who paved the way for generations to come - Boom Shaka, Trompies and Bongo Maffin. 

Ready to get their groove on, the international musical milestone from the US known as Ten City will grace the Delicious Main Stage with their funky grooves on Sunday 22nd, bringing old-schoolpassion to the party. This sensational 90’s R&B and House vocal group was one of the main exponents in the development of Deep House, blending funk and thumping beats to create a soundpreviously unheard of, which turned the tables on the dance scene.

The trio’s well-known track “That’s the Way Love Is” hit number one on the US dance charts which shot them to even greater heights along with the singles "Devotion" and "Right Back to You". On stagelive for the first time in South Africa and with the experience needed to stir up the crowds, Ten City has an irresistible style to get your mouth watering.

These great musos join Corinne Bailey Rae, Raphael Saadiq, Tiwa Savage, Ralf Gum All Stars, Shekhinah, Lira, and Shimza,Cassper Nyovest, and Ms Cosmo in Shimza’s House and many more at the DStv Delicious International Food and Music Festival.
