Jerry Deeuw: A South African All-Rounder Media Maverick

Monday Afternoon I met up with Jerry Deeuw a Johannesburg based Media Mogul in the making, the very bubbly and passionate about his work man grew up in Thaba-nchu in Free state province and completed his studies at a business college in Bloemfontein. He moved to Johannesburg in 1999.
After more than a decade years of experience, he then decided to open shop in 2010 and that was the birth of Jerry Deeuw Media. Since then the media maverick dabbled to grow his business that is now at a peak of it's growth stage.

Romley: Tell me more about Jerry Deeuw Media?

Jerry: The Company is in demand for collaborations with Big companies, unfortunately I can’t name drop now but I will reveal more about that soon. Jerry Deeuw Media is basically a one stop shop in the Entertainment and Cooperate space. We have an international collaboration with a PR Company in Europe ( Big news ever) We also just signed a partnership with a Gaming Company called TAM Gaming ( also Big News)"

Romley: I see you have good relationship with the big media personalities in the Town.

Jerry: We are handling their business relationship with brands, I do that for Pabi Moloi, Aldrin Sampear, Bonnie Mbuli,Mpho Sebeng, Stoan Seate, KB, Mo and Mome Mahlangu, Bev Ditsie and many more

Romley: Do you also manage talents? say maybe new and upcoming artists.

Jerry: Yes! We also have new talents on temporary contracts, I'm very happy with musicians: Lafayete,Champion and Ray Mupats. They have great hits that will be on the airwaves very soon. However, we are slowly moving away from this service because most of upcoming musicians are very impatient, which is not a bad thing because it shows their hunger for success. But, they want to get famous instantly, not focusing on the bigger picture! Patience and Trusting the process it’s a serious issue with most upcoming  talent!

"Also the Company is at the level where there is No time for taking in clients who don’t have PR budget" added Jerry

Romley: You seem to be in a good space, what is this exciting news you don't wanna divulge much about?

Jerry: We have new exciting services and collaborations, We are big in all the services that we provide. We have close to 20 creatives and we are about to hire new employees! The positions will be advertised soon.

"My vision about the Company is now coming to a reality, my dream has always been to create jobs for creatives. I'm also proud to say we are going global  within the PR fraternity, Brand positioning,Stage, Lights and sound hiring, ticketing and Event cash listing, Facilitating Influences (education, politics, LGBTQI+) and also Event WiFi are by far our most bragging services." says Jerry with a grin on his face

"Basically everything you need we provide under one umbrella as @jerrydeeuwmedia, hence our brand mark is the photographer's umbrella. We capture and shed light on our clients and talent.
A photographer’s umbrella captures light and casts it upon the subject of an image. So does of Jerry Deeuw Media efforts unto our clients and talent. An umbrella is all encompassing, all embracing, symbolic of the wide spectrum of services our company provides and the lengths to which we would go to protect and serve those with whom we have dealings. Our brand stands for safety, a shelter in an industry that can be volatile. To cast a light upon you is to say I realise you are of value" added Jerry with his eyes lightened looking very excited

Romley: What is your advice to young entrepreneurs in South Africa, especially PR and Media aspirants?

Jerry: My advice to the young ones out there and also upcoming entrepreneurs out there is “Success is built over time not overnight” As an MD of JERRY DEEUW MEDIA I regard myself a perfect example. I don’t wanna mention my struggles before all this success because I've done so in many interviews. I'm focusing in the now, the good space that I'm currently experiencing and looking forward to what the future has to offer.

Thank you Jerry Deeuw for allowing me this opportunity to tap into your space, you are such a breath of fresh air. Please continue being yourself and continue #FashioningModernAfricanism
