Idols SA Top 16 contestant Jerodine Madlala deserves an immediate disqualification from the Top 10 of Idols SAseason 16 because moss moghurl went and got herself pregnant. Don't get me wrong, falling pregnant is not a bad thing. I'm imagining it's a beautiful experience. However, Jerodine entered herself in a singing competition, and that automatically means you can't be wanting to pop babies during and after that time (should one win). Think of it like a beauty pageant, no contestant is allowed to be pregnant during the competition and her reign. Like whose going to give birth to the child? Whose gonna feed, bath and nurture the baby? Sadly men can't do that, which is a real shame if you ask me.
While others might argue that nywe-nywe-nywe Jerodine is 28 years old and she can do whatever she wants with her body and vagina. Also that God's timing is best nonsense.
The problem with such sentiments (above) is that Idols SA is mainly a youth show target, kids watch the show. IdolsSA would have to think carefully about this one. The show is named Idols meaning REPRESENTATION. We can't have a 28 year old unmarried pregnant individual to be idolised by the youth. That will just be wrong.
So, women and young ladies out there don't go falling pregnant unless becoming a mother is/was your desire. If an 18 year old trully wants to get knocked (which I doubt), is well within her rights but not on an idols show.
In closing, I feel for a lot of reasons that we're a society that has normalised things that don't need to. That being said if something can wait (like pregnancy), then it can stay until you're ready to for it.
Oh before I forget, Zama my favourite IdolsSA contestant thus far, is still my favourite. She sang the noted out of the Seal's Crazy. I hope she get better as the competition progresses.
Let's see who'll be making it to the Top 10 and winning those amazing preliminary prizes.
