The owner and founder of Podcast and Chill, Macgyverr MacG Mukwevho came out guns blazing this past Monday as if someone touched him on his studio. What made him particularly pissed were the assertions made via an Instagram video by Actress and television presenter Amanda du-Pont.
In the video Amanda is speaking out against Molemo Jub-jub Maarohanye, alleging that she was raped in the 2 years they were supposedly in a relationship together. But it does not end there, Amanda went on calling on other women abused by Jub-jub as well as MacG.
The Latter is partly why Mister Podcast and chilled was aggravated and I understand why. You see on the video MacG is made to look like he has somewhat forcefully and sexually interacted with girls. You can also allude no, depending on your interpretation. But I for one, I will not sit here and say I did not think that’s what she meant.
Does MacG have the right to be angry to a point of involving lawyers? NO! he does not, NO! he should not. He needs to take responsibility of his platform, that is platform conducive to such things. I mean we love the podcast for that, right? He must take the good as well as the bad that comes with it. I mean let’s be honest here, Jub-jub’s podcast is the FIRST EVER episode to reach a million views within 2 weeks of publishing. Record breaking stuff there. The more we talk about it the more it gets to be more famous and more views are bound.
Before we speak about MacG’s uncancelable arrogance, let’s talk a bit about the rape allegations leveled against Bhut’ Maswiti. I believe Amanda! There is a lot of truth in her cry. She might not have been raped, but there definitely was some sort of abuse she suffered in the the hands of Jubee :)
Is it a necessary arrogance for MacG to think and to even say they’re uncancelable, look around you, the cancel culture might miss the podcast, but people will eventually get tired of the team giving little to no regard to the feelings of their viewers more especially affected parties. If anyone thinks they’re uncancelable, fine, but look at the ANC. The one victorious South African political party is now fumbling due to it’s arrogance and playing deaf to people’s cries.
If that is not proof enough, look at Dj Fresh, Phat Joe and Euphonik, no radio station wants to work with them anymore. Think Jam Alley, after 16 years in the telly it was canned and people moved on. Remember the days when Generations was the number one show on our TV screens reaching a staggering 10 million views per episode. There was no show that could compete with Generations and now it’s no-more.
Treat your product and workers well in turn consumers will stay local to you. Stop the arrogance MacG and admit when you’re wrong (over-sight), then move on. Keep doing what you do but with consideration, We LOVE your show.
