SNE DANCES HER WAY TO THE TOP AT THE RED BULL DANCE YOUR STYLE TOUR IN JOZI

Sne wins the Red Bull Dance Your Style Johannesburg Qualifier 2022

Jozi has a winner!  The world's biggest one-on-one street dance competition in South Africa, Red Bull Dance Your Style kicked off the regional qualifying tour in Johannesburg, where dancers came in numbers to compete for the spot to represent Mzansi at the World Final taking place this December in South Africa.  

 

The tour had an exhilarating start this weekend in Johannesburg where the highly energetic spectators at The Playground in Braamfontein cheered Sne to victory. 

 

Hosted by Elly The Entertainer, the qualifier tour kicked off with workshops by Jiva actress and dance instructor Kananelo Ngaleka, the 2021 Red Bull Dance Your Style in SA champion Shanny J, pro-dancer and choreographer Daniel Lenka as well as the founder of Soweto's Finest Tom London.

 

This was followed by the qualifying one-on-one battle rounds which showcased various movement styles as dancers competed to an unpredictable music selection curated by DJ extraordinaire Tha Cutt.

“All the rounds were tough and even more challenging when I had to dance against one with my favourite hip hop dancers. That made me realize that I have to go back to the basics and train all my styles again and build them by taking variations and improving on the performance elements in order to make it further in this competition” said the 2022 Johannesburg winner of the Red Bull Dance Your Style in South Africa, Sne. 

 

The search is officially on for the best dancer that will be representing Mzansi on the massive Red Bull Dance Your Style global stage for the ultimate title. 

 

The remaining South African qualifying Red Bull Dance Your Style tour dates are as follows:

 

23rd July: Durban Suncoast Casino, Durban

30 July: Bloemfontein (to be confirmed)

6th August: Polokwane Mall of the North

13th August: Gqeberha Baywest Mall

20th August: Cape Town Amphitheatre V&A Waterfront

27th August: Pretoria The South Africa State theatre

22 & 23 October  - National Final in Pretoria 

10 December - World Final in Montecasino, Johannesburg

The winner of the South African national final, taking place on 22 & 23 October, will represent South Africa at the Red Bull Dance Your Style World Final on 10 December in Johannesburg.
