As Heritage Month comes to a close, it's time to turn up the heat on BBC Lifestyle with the hottest Braai Competition.
BBC Studios is thrilled to announce that Ultimate Braai Master, the sizzling outdoor cooking reality show, will soon be heating up screens on BBC Lifestyle (DStv Channel 174).
Fans of the braai culture can look forward to the fiery, action-packed Season 5 of the acclaimed show, on BBC Lifestyle from Monday, 30 September 2024, airing weeknights at 19:00. This exciting series brings the beloved South African tradition of braai to life, mixed in with a bit of competition, travel, and, of course, mouth-watering food.
For the first time ever, Ultimate Braai Master will be featured on BBC Studios channel portfolio, marking a proud addition to BBC Lifestyle’s growing local content lineup, which includes other fan favourites such as Come Dine with Me: South Africa and Listing Cape Town.
From easy-to-follow recipes from renowned celebrity chefs to DIY-inspiring home improvement and luxe property shows, BBC Lifestyle is once again showing its commitment to delivering a diverse entertainment experience that aims to cater to all facets of the South African lifestyle and culture.
Hosted by veteran presenter, producer, cook and traveller, Justin Bonello, Ultimate Braai Master hosts multiple two-person teams – comprising a Braai Buddy and the Braai Master – who then battle it out in a series of outdoor cooking challenges across some of SA’s most stunning locations, including the Drakensberg Mountains and Wavecrest Hotel & Spa in the Wild Coast.
Season 5’s competitors hail from across the country, representing provinces such as Kwa-Zulu Natal, Limpopo, Gauteng, and the Western Cape.
And judging these teams are two culinary powerhouses – celebrity chefs Pete Goffe-Wood and Benny Masekwameng. Each week, the judges will assess the teams’ cooking, and the weakest teams of the week will face the risk of elimination – all in a bid to win the coveted title of Ultimate Braai Master.
The winning team will also take home an impressive prize package worth over R2 million, including a brand-new Suzuki Grand Vitara, R200 000 in Game vouchers, and R400 000 in cash.
This season promises intense braai battles and unique outdoor experiences as contestants try their best to navigate diverse cooking challenges and survival scenarios – making this a show that should not be missed.
You can catch all the flaming action on BBC Lifestyle, DStv Channel 174, weeknights at 19:00, or on DStv Catch-up if you missed it.
