Run For Me” Charity Fun Run Comes To Johannesburg & Bloemfontein With Rapper Rouge Set To Raise Funds For Talitha Cumi Place Of Safety For Children's Home

This Youth Day, South Africans are called to action with purpose, unity, and compassion. On Monday, 16 June 2025, the “Run For Me” Charity Fun Run will take place simultaneously in Johannesburg and Bloemfontein, raising vital funds for Talitha Cumi Place of Safety—a home committed to caring for children who have been abandoned, abused, or orphaned.

Hosted in proud partnership with Discovery Vitality, the event is more than just a run—it’s a symbolic race for the future of a child. Each runner will wear a race number bearing the name of a child from Talitha Cumi, making every stride personal and profoundly meaningful. All proceeds will directly support the home and its expansion efforts.

Joining the initiative is rapper Rouge says there’s nothing more rewarding than having fun while being charitable.

”Its more than just putting on cute gym wear, gathering with friends and lacing up my sneakers. It's about support a cause that touches the lives of children living at the home and giving back,” Rouge says.

Talitha Cumi: A Legacy of Hope

Founded in 2008 under the heart and vision of CRC Church, Talitha Cumi began as a single home for 26 children and has grown into a transformative haven for vulnerable children across South Africa. Today, it houses 41 children, providing a safe, loving, and structured environment to help them heal and flourish. In 2010, a second home opened exclusively for newborns to 2-year-olds, offering constant, high-level care to babies often abandoned at birth. Many children have since found loving foster or adoptive families through the initiative.

The future of Talitha Cumi lies in its Village Project—a long-term residential vision for orphaned and abandoned children up to age 21. To date, five homes have been built. One is already furnished and ready for occupancy, while two more are expected to be registered this year. These homes will offer full-time care, mentorship and a stable foundation for the next generation.

“For the past 17 years, our Talitha Cumi ministry nas been committed to being part of safety for children who have been removed from he care of families due to neglect, abuse or abandonment. Since the registration over 1130 chilren  have been successfully place din homes,” said Pastor AT Boschoff.
