The Village released their brand new offering on 29 May 2020, simply titled “Conversate”. The Duo which makes up The Village is Flacko Fresh (Khotso Clyde Maseko) & Msoja Atchu (Solly Gomane); describes the song as a deeper conversation one should have with their significant other. They featured a Durban born artist Musiholiq who took producing direction from beat maker and producer Maxnotsober.
The song creates a perfect picture of what a real relationship should be. Breaking the stereotype of a man simply fulfilling his sexual needs, and not taking care of the emotional aspect of his female counterpart. This song caries languages of African descent as well as English verses, which makes it all the more interesting.
It’s motivating to see that young men do think about the nurturing and protection of our woman rather than looking at women as a sex object. Instead, the duo's choice was to value mutual respect of two humans who are head over heels for each other. “Its possible for a young couple to conversate and speak about life”: says Flacko Fresh.
The track is set in a romantic vibe infused with mid tempo, and is filled with musically inclined dynamics.
Dialogue is the essence of relationship; its goal is to create new human and political capacities for problem-solving.
