Corporation Games by Anneleigh Jacobsen is a fictional corporate thriller based on a number of real-life financial scandals that have rocked South Africa.

The sex, money and greed of the corporate world are pitted against the quiet resilience of rural people. The end will leave you in awe.

About the book

What happens when the spirit world of South Africa clashes with corporate greed?

Why have the tokoloshes been sent to sniff out evil in Sandton? Some scary witchcraft practices that will leave you in awe of the extra mile people go because of greed.

The book open on a light note, the author take us on a tour through the Food Africa BrandCo Head Office which is set in Sandton. It was here where Georgie  was a part of a team that had to bring new products to market at lightning speed. The very same office is where Georgie fall for her married colleague. Jake is a gorgeous British family man in his mid 30s. Thing's get complicated when the two start entertaining the romance connection they shared.

The book will take you through the jozi fast life, the in's and out's of the PR/Marketing Industry. The author also explores the south African traditional culture of sangomas based in Inchanga, Kwazulu Natal. How come the shades begin to move behind the automated sliding doors in the silent coolness of marble where money talks louder than people? The office politics, greed and scandals unfolds.

Georgie leads a highly skilled team of eager brand managers. They get the figures, understand the consumer and know when to give the weary buyers slack. They are also gorgeous and yummy young men and women who are career driven but why then does the MD of Nielsen throw his toys?

More than 500 km away, in rural KwaZulu-Natal, Sindiwe, a smart, modern woman, learns more about the ancestral world than she has ever wished to. The chapter's in the village felt like they were short lived, the author left us hanging in most of these scenes as she tackles the storyline. I honestly felt like, i was reading a movie script. This is one of the books that filmmaker's should never sleep on.

In the author's note, Anneleigh claims that, the story, characters the companies are all fictional. But, the work of the competition commission is real and necessary.
