Fashion powerhouse "Quiteria Atelier"
The Exchange Lofts, an upmarket penthouse in Johannesburg draped in exaggerated layers of couture garments. Everyone is styled in upright ponytails by Darling hair to keep the focus on the layers of costume. A light breeze blows the long trains of the dresses as they each strike a pose.
“Everyone is regal and ready to take on the journey ahead. This look cements the power that lies in every African child,” says Quiteria.
Scandal actress on e-tv Mapaseka Koetle says working with Quiteria has been a dream come true, “I have seen his work in the past. His passion lies in every piece of fabric. Who would have imagined a girl from Bloemfontein would be dressed by the same hands that touched Beyoncé for the Global Citizen.
Rhythm City actress Mapula Mafole says experimenting with fashion gives her a sense of bravery. “It’s amazing how powerful one can feel just by transforming into a garment. I feel like I can take over the world.”
Skeem Saam actress Lerato Marabe says feeling beautiful is in the mind. “Quiteria understood all our body types and did the most to enhance our characters. I feel powerful and majestic.”
Actor Sandile Mahlangu says being paired with some of South Africa’s best is thrilling. “Being amongst the best actors, musicians and working with Quiteria brings out the best in me. I have reached heights never imagined. I feel and look ready to take on any challenge.”
Cosmetic brand Pretty Much owner Eva Modika says, it’s time to reinvent the wheel.

Quiteria’s latest range is inspired by the need to adapt into tough circumstances and always being inventive. The coronavirus pandemic and lockdown situation has been tragic for many countries, but it has allowed him creative freedom to think outside of his comfort zone.
“We need to reinvent the wheel, unlearn what we have been taught, so we can be part of the change,” added Quiteria.
