THE LEADING PLAYER RETURNS TO Y; AYANDA MVP TO HOST AFTERNOON DRIVE ON Y

  South Africa’s biggest commercial youth radio station, Y, officially welcomes home the leading player, Ayanda MVP as the afternoon drive show’s “power hitter” for the ‘Home Run’. The show debuts on the 3rd of May 2022 and runs on Monday to Friday, 3pm to 6pm. Known for her street cred and vibrant personality, Ayanda Mdluli, who was with the station in 2016, will host the afternoon drive show with Y’s DJ Flax, as producer and one of the contributors to the show. About her return to Y, Ayanda says that: “I’m beyond excited to be back at Y. I’m a music driven broadcaster; most of my content is about artists and their tracks that are fire. This new show gives me the platform to continue being purposeful and intentional with my love for music both on radio and the decks. I’ve been working towards an opportunity like this. Y launches a thrilling drama series, called Tequila AF, exclusively on the YFM app. South Africa’s largest commercial youth radio station introduces its audience to an audio only drama, speaking to the essence of ‘theatre of the mind’.  Tequila AF, created and directed by Y content producer Lumko Johnson, brings a storyline of murder, and explores themes of friendship, loyalty and mental illness. When Will Smith slapped Chris Rock at the Oscars, on the night he won his first Academy Award, as Best Actor for  King Richard , people joked online that this was not the first time Smith had “got in one little fight” and that next he’d be moving in with his auntie and uncle in Bel-Air - a reference to the setup of the iconic 90s sitcom  The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air .
