The River Top The List With 10 SAFTAS

Last night we took it kwa twitter as the awards went digital due to the Covid-19 outbreak and hosted by mzansi's radio and TV personality Dineo Ranaka. Mzansi Magic's The River was a major winner at the awards, scooping 10 different prizes, including Best Achievement in Directing - Telenovela and Best Telenovela. The show's Sindi Dlathu won the Best Actress - Telenovela award for her often-flawless performances as Lindiwe on the show, while Mary-Anne Barlow won Best Supporting Actress- Telenovela for her character Gail. Kgomotso Christopher may have left  Scandal!  but she still bagged a Best Supporting Actress - TV Soapie award for her role as Yvonne Langa. Bongile Mantsai walked away with two awards, one for Best Actor - Feature Film and Best Actor- Soap for his roles on  Knuckle City  and  Scandal!  respectively. Somizi's reality show won Best Structured or Docu-reality Show. Loyiso MacDonald won Best Supporting Actor - Telenovela for his role in  The Queen. Best Act

we are a society built on the approval of others. Now I know. This is a concept that is both out of left field and a reality there needs to be a breakdown of the very concept of approval. What is approval? While the dictionary defines approval as 'a feeling or belief that either something or someone is either acceptable or good, I possess my own personal gnosis regarding what approval is. Approval is essentially a metaphorical thumbs up we get from our peers or associates that states that we have done a good job. That we are progressing further. I mean we all do it. We all aim to have one of the highest marks on a class test because we both want to prove to ourselves that we are in fact intelligent, but that we are recognized by our intellectual better as being intelligent. Lockdown 2020 Update: Toxic Masculinity

It is during the lockdown, at about 22:03 pm, on a Thursday Evening that was supposed to be a last day of the initial 21 days of lockdown in South Africa. Two weeks down the line, when everybody was starting to settle in their state of mind the idea of returning back to normal routines, things were getting real hard.
