Reasons Why Men Are Suddenly Gone Rouge and Killing Women?

Image
I write this blog post disheartened, saddened at the same time of the current events that seem to emerge in our country, society as well as our households. The events that men are now seemingly on a killing spree, taking lives of harmless defenseless and innocent creatures. I’m talking about our mothers of the future, our sister’s, nieces and cousins to be dying more like dogs at the hands of their loved ones. The horrific phenomenon we’ve nicely clothed as Gender Based Violence and femicide. It’s not GBV, in simple terms, its MURDER!!! With all these deaths occurring, I’ve often wondered as to what could be the real reason(s) why men kill women they claim to (have) love (d) and in all honesty I have not come to any logical explanation except frustration. Men are frustrated and angry about a lot of things, namely their sexuality, their manhood and societal expectations as to what a man should be and do.    However, studies suggest that the recent attacks on women and children are a sig

They Called Me Queer by Kim Windvogel & Kelly-Eve Koopman

Hey Bafwethu! The world is fast changing, a need to ameliorate the content is just inevitable. Coco V (covid19) has shifted things, and most people are becoming more woke as we tap into the new normal. La ekhaya, we have also decided to add book recommendations onto our list. Books are a great escape when you want to tap into a different world to give the mind some sort of adventure. Reading is more than just a hobby we enjoy when we run out of things to do, it is empowering, entertaining and adventurous. This Week's choice was an easy one but I challenge you to read this book. After all it's still Pride Month!  They Called Me Queer' is a collection written by Africans who self-identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex and asexual. South Africa has become known for its tolerance towards the LGBTQIA+ community. However, we live in a devastatingly segregated and unequal society, where sexual identities still heavily impacts every part of our daily lives

Experience The Village’ signature HipHop soul sound on new single “Conversate”

Image
LISTEN HERE The Village released their brand new offering on 29 May 2020, simply titled “Conversate”. The Duo which makes up The Village is Flacko Fresh (Khotso Clyde Maseko) & Msoja Atchu (Solly Gomane); describes the song as a deeper conversation one should have with their significant other. They featured a Durban born artist Musiholiq who took producing direction from beat maker and producer Maxnotsober. The song creates a perfect picture of what a real relationship should be. Breaking the stereotype of a man simply fulfilling his sexual needs, and not taking care of the emotional aspect of his female counterpart. This song caries languages of African descent as well as English verses, which makes it all the more interesting. It’s motivating to see that young men do think about the nurturing and protection of our woman rather than looking at women as a sex object. Instead, the duo's choice was to value mutual respect of two humans who are head over heels for each other. “Its
