Showmax has just dropped the first trailer for Somizi & Mohale: End of the Road, an unauthorised documentary premiering on 25 August 2022.

Aldrin Sampear, The Host  of  Unfiltered  on SABC 3 and the drive time show  Beyond The Headline  on SAFM just wrapped up the one on one Interview with Mohale for Showmax Origianal. The Showmax special will premiere on 4 August 2022, first on Showmax.  Mohale and his husband Somizi Mhlongo became the poster couple for gay marriage in South Africa when their SAFTA-nominated 2020 wedding special,  Somizi & Mohale: The Union , was labelled The Union of the Year and set a then record for the most first day views on Showmax. Their relationship was also a central focus on  Living The Dream With Somizi  S4, which won the 2020 SAFTA for Best Structured or Docu-Reality Show.  As Aldrin says, “As a queer person, their union has been a celebration of what many would love to achieve but, because of societal norms, have struggled to. SOMIZI MHLONGO EXCUSED FROM THE IDOLS SA JUDGING PANEL AFTER THE ABUSE ALLEGATIONS BY HIS HUSBAND

Johannesburg, 6 August 2021: M-Net and Mr Somizi Mhlongo met to discuss his role on Idols SA in light of the allegations made against him by his estranged husband Mohale Motaung. According to then statement released today by The channel. They have reached a mutual agreement that Mr Mhlongo will take some time off to deal with his personal circumstances until this matter has been resolved.   Viewers will still see Mr Mhlongo on their screens until Sunday, 22 August 2021, as the audition shows for Idols SA were pre-recorded.  We've reached out to the channel's representative regarding Somizi's replacement but the answers were not given to us. Last week Somizi was sent media enquiries by City Press and Sunday World regarding stories that journalists were working on. Look bafwethu, It is well within our duty as reporter's to ask questions and to give the other party a chance to give their side of the story. But instead of responding to a request for comment, Somizi decided to respond by insulting the journalists. The fabulous first episode of  Somizi and Mohale: The Union , South Africa’s first gay celebrity wedding special, is now streaming exclusively on Showmax. The episode captures  Somizi Mhlongo and Mohale Motaung’s  September 2019 traditional wedding in Kibler Park, Johannesburg, which merged their respective Zulu and Sotho cultures in a flamboyant celebration full of romance, gorgeous decor, dazzling chandelier cakes, G.H. Mumm champagne and multiple costume changes...  We see Somizi read a very profound and heart warming message Mohale sent to him in the morning after the traditional ceremony of exchanging gifts and acknowledging their ancestors, which was held at The Motaung's family home the previous evening. This past weekend I decided to pay attention to my timelines to gather some interesting stuff we can discuss during this week as we go back to slaving. Here's what caught my attention as I was busy pretending to be minding my own but ke andingu ushwashwi mna. Saturday afternoon social media went on a buzz when #SomhaleWhiteWedding started trending. Hey bopha, it wasn't a wedding. The newly Traditional wedded husbands, Somizi and Mohale hosted their groomsmen to a luxury luncheon at River Meadow Manor. If you think their traditional wedding was a wedding of the year, noo honey buckle up as we do the count down to #Somhalewhitewedding. The couple with the best man, Thabo and their maid of honor, Truddols. Only a selected few who are chosen to be groomsmen were invited to brake bread with the couple as they discuss the plans for the big day.
