Celebrating the Best in South African film and television production The first of two glamorous evenings, where the South African film and television industry come together to honour the hard work and dedication to the craft of storytelling, commenced in Johannesburg on Friday evening .   Multichoice has once again showcased their exceptional commitment to quality and creativity by scooping a raft of awards at this year's South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTAs) 17 craft awards ceremony. The prestigious event took place on Friday, 29 September at the Gallagher Convention Centre in Midrand, Johannesburg.   Leading the pack were productions from kykNET, M-Net, Mzansi Magic, and 1Magic. The Basadi in Music Awards (Bima) officially set to return for the second annual award ceremony to be held on the 12th August 2023 at Joburg Theatre. This year the ceremony will be hosted by actress and media personality Kanyi Mbau. Khanyi Mbau is set to take centre stage as the host of the Basadi in Music Awards.The media personality, who has been dominating the small screen, plans to put her best foot forward at the highly anticipated second annual awards ceremony on August 12 at the Joburg Theatre. “It’s such an honour. SENEGAL TO HOST 8TH ANNUAL AFRIMA MAIN AWARD CEREMONIES MOVED TO 12-15 JAN 2023

The Government of Senegal has accepted and undertaken to host the 8 th  edition of All Africa Music Awards, AFRIMA at a joint world media conference - host country unveiling held at the Hotel King Fahd Royal Palace, in Dakar, Senegal on Friday November 4, 2022.   The awards ceremony will now be held from January 12 to 15, 2023, in Dakar, Senegal; shifting the previous date up by four weeks as jointly announced by The International Committee of AFRIMA, The African union commission and The Republic of Senegal. This also means that the voting deadline for the nominees will now be shifted to Friday, 13 January 2023. The highly anticipated Feather Awards is almost upon us and earlier today the colourful list of 2022 nominees were announced following the hoisting of the Pride flag at the home of human rights Constitutional Hill in Johannesburg. The intimate affair boasted speakers including this year's Award hosts the Modiselle sisters, Refilwe, Bontle and Candice, Thami Dish as well as the reigning Miss South Africa Ndavi Nokeri alongside Miss SA CEO Stephanie Courtney- Weil. Other speakers included Dr Dulcy Rakumakoe, Constitutional Hill's Janine Muthusamy and Dawn Robertson, Zingisa Jemsana - COO of Market Theatre, PFSAQ's Linah Ngwenya, Fundi Ndaba from FEW and Sign language activist Andiswa Gebashe. The 17th South African Traditional Music Awards (SATMA) happened this past Saturday on October 1st at Mbombela Stadium, in Mpumalanga. T h e ceremony was suppose to be all glitz and glamour, but the red carpet prepared for the venue was such a mess and disorganised.  Guest's at the Red Carpet  The gorgeous guests from all over the country came looking stunning in designer garments and traditional attires that never made it to the red carpet extravaganza. PUBLIC VOTING OFFICIALLY OPENS :  Here Johannesburg, South Africa  - The International Executive Committee of the All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA), in conjunction with the African Union Commission (AUC) recently released the official list of nominees for the 2022 edition.         Only entries within the validity period of 20 August 2021 - 5 August 2022 were considered for nomination for this year’s awards.  Leading the nominations on a regional basis this year is the Western African region, with 134 nominations, representing 35 percent; while the Eastern African region follows closely with 69 nominations, representing 18 percent; the Southern African region races closely with 68 nominations, representing 17.8 percent; while Central Africa pulls in its weight with 52 nominations, representing 13.6 percent; while the Northern African region follows closely with 49 nominations, representing 12.8 percent.     Also, the Global music region, which represents music from Non-Africans in the di
