MTV Announced Superstar and Renowned Icon Drew Barrymore To Host The 2023 MTV Movie & TV Awards

MTV today announced that film and television powerhouse  Drew Barrymore has been tapped to host the 2023 MTV Movie & TV Awards LIVE from the Barker Hangar in Los Angeles on  Monday, May 8, beginning at  02:00 CAT. The evening will honour the biggest and best in both movies and television, across scripted and unscripted, for one supersized, can’t-miss event, which will also air on MTV internationally in more than 150 countries. Barrymore has been nominated a total of nine times and has taken home three Golden Popcorns. She won her first award for “Best Kiss” for The Wedding Singer. She also won “Best On-Screen Team” for Charlie’s Angels (2001). The fourth annual DStv Mzansi Viewers’ Choice Awards (DMVCAs) celebrated l ocal celebrities and delegates shined on the much loved blue carpet, dressed to the nines and ready to support their peers as they walked away with the coveted statuettes on the 25th  June at the Sun Arena in Pretoria.   Take a look at the snaps of your favourite A-listers spotted during the awards ceremony. On the back of a two year hiatus due to COVID-19,   DStv and Mzansi Magic hosted the DStv Mzansi Viewers’ Choice Awards (DStvMVCA) at the Sun Arena in Pretoria on 25 June. The popular awards show was broadcast live for DStv subscribers. Local celebrities and delegates shined on the much loved blue carpet, dressed to the nines and ready to support their peers as they walked away with the coveted statuettes. The host, Lawrence Maleka, had a handle on the proceedings and everyone who stepped up to the mic to present an award –   the likes of Boity, Mpho Wabadimo, PH, Khutso Theledi and Presely Chweneyagae  – brought good humour and a positive attitude. After already earning a nod in the Record of the Year (ROTY) category announced last week for Osama with Kasango,  Zakes Bantwini leads the nominees list for #SAMA28 with a total of seven nomination. His album, Ghetto King, is up for Album of the Year, Male Artist of the Year, Best Dance Album and Best Engineered Album awards. His two songs, Imali with   Karyendasoul featuring Nana Atta and Osama with Kasango,   are also in the running for Best Collaboration award .    Already with a Music Video of the Year (MVOTY) and four ROTY nominations under his belt, DJ Maphorisa’s Best Remix of the year nomination for Feel Good brings his SAMA28 tally to six.   Mobi Dixon and Msaki are not far behind with four nominations each. Mobi’s When House Was House contends for Best Dance Album, Album of the Year and Male Artist of the Year awards.
