On 12 January 2020, Old Mutual’s Amazing Voices, a pan-African singing competition, will premiere on the small screen with contestants from nine African cities – Accra, Kumasi, Mombasa, Nairobi, Bulawayo, Harare, Cape Town, Durban and Johannesburg, - squaring off against each other for the grand prize of $100 000 (R1.5 million). Idols flipped the tables on Mzansi, leaving Idols fans on a cliffhanger for the entire Top 9 performance and audiences finding out only at the end of the show that it was the end of the  road for 30-year-old teacher Innocentia Sibi .
