Mo Flava Join 947 As New Morning Show Host

Popular radio broadcaster and club DJ Mo Flava, real name Moeti Tsiki, has joined 947 after departing his breakfast show on Metro FM. The Soweto-born DJ will from Monday take over the 9am to 12pm show weekdays, with previous host of the time slot, Msizi James, moving to night, the station confirmed on Thursday morning. The Durban-born DJ will team up with Bolele Polisa with their show airing from Monday to Thursday between 7pm and 10pm. “I am excited and honoured to be joining 947. I have always had the greatest admiration and respect for the Primedia platform, and I’m looking forward to experiencing every part of the 947 world. I can’t wait to meet the listeners and the 947 team. This is an opportunity for me to do radio at the highest level,” said Mo Flava. James added: “I am excited for this new chapter.   South Africa’s biggest commercial youth radio station, Y, officially welcomes home the leading player, Ayanda MVP as the afternoon drive show’s “power hitter” for the ‘Home Run’. The show debuts on the 3rd of May 2022 and runs on Monday to Friday, 3pm to 6pm. Known for her street cred and vibrant personality, Ayanda Mdluli, who was with the station in 2016, will host the afternoon drive show with Y’s DJ Flax, as producer and one of the contributors to the show. Y launches a thrilling drama series, called Tequila AF, exclusively on the YFM app. South Africa’s largest commercial youth radio station introduces its audience to an audio only drama, speaking to the essence of ‘theatre of the mind’.  Tequila AF, created and directed by Y content producer Lumko Johnson, brings a storyline of murder, and explores themes of friendship, loyalty and mental illness. PriMedia Has Shown Dj Fresh and Euphonik The Door After Rape Allegations Duo Decided To Resume Their Public Engagements.

Radio 702 and 947 owners PriMedia has fired radio DJs Fresh and Euphonik following the rape allegations that the pair is facing. The media company announced the decision on Wednesday evening, indicating that it opted to release the two popular DJs from their contracts. “Primedia Broadcasting can confirm that, after careful consideration of the events of the last few weeks, the company has decided to release DJ Fresh and Euphonik from their contracts. Their last shows on 947 were aired on 15th January and 10th January 2021 respectively,” reads the statement. The decision follows allegations which were made by a woman on Twitter who claimed that the two DJs raped her in 2017, at an unknown lodge after a party. The lady has since opened a rape case against the duo at the Sunnyside police station. It is alleged the duo's statement above was the reason behind PriMedia's decision to switch off the djs mic's. Let's take a step back behind the scenes into the engine room where the production of KZN's most loved breakfast show takes place. Let's catch up with Music compiler/technical producer and events coordinator from Umgababa, South Coast of Durban. Born Sbusiso Mthembu, Dj Flair is a technical producer at Gagasi FM for "The Uprising" which is the biggest, if not baddest morning breakfast show in KZN. He is also a music compiler at the station. In University, back in 2010, DJ Flair picked up the fundamentals of DJing from a "res mate" and has never looked back. With his determination and passion for music, he taught himself how to produce music. In 2014, Flair produced the song " Sokwenza nje kwaMax" which he gave to DJ Howzin and to his surprise it ended up forming part of the playlist of SABC 1's TV drama Zone14. In 2016, Flair was a resident DJ on Friday nights with DJ Lesoul on Gagasi FM, a year later when she joined the "Midday shandi
