One of South Africa’s best-loved radio and television personalities, Anele Mdoda, is set to host this year’s Miss South Africa finale pageant which takes place on Saturday, August 13. Mdoda has been associated with Miss South Africa since 2013, five times as a judge and last year as a co-host alongside Survivor SA presenter Nick Panagio. This year, Mdoda is hosting the show on her own, a role she doesn’t take lightly. “I'm very excited that we are back to a full capacity arena, because a packed arena suits my energy levels and always motivates me to work just that little bit harder to ensure that everyone has a good time and really enjoys the evening.” Mdoda’s advice to this year’s top 10 finalists is for them to have fun and “be in the moment.” She adds: “They should not worry about what they think they look like or whether they answered a question correctly or if something happens to their hair or their dress when they’re on stage. No one cares. If they are having a go

Miss South Africa 2021 will be crowned on Saturday, October 16, at the Grand Arena, GrandWest in Cape Town. The event will be screened live from 17h00 on M-Net (DStv Channel 101) and Mzansi Magic (DStv Channel 161) and will also be streamed for an international audience on MissSA.live. Anele Mdoda has been associated with Miss South Africa since 2013 as a judge but this is her first time hosting the pageant. It’s second time around for Panagio who recently completed fronting the latest series of  Survivor SA  for M-Net.   So how does Anele feel about moving from the judges’ panel to centre stage: “It’s the Top 10 who are centre stage, I am merely a vehicle that moves the night along with an insight of where the finalists’ minds should be and what the judges will be thinking, and I will be the one giving the audience at home the scoop!” She encourages television and online viewers to tune in as the next queen is crowned: “It’s going to be a beautiful evening – finding our new Miss South

Miss South Africa 2020 will be crowned at The Table Bay hotel in an entertainment-packed event on Saturday, October 24, from 17h00. The event will be screened live on M-Net and Mzansi Magic and will also be streamed online. For Tunzi it seems surreal: “I was a contestant on stage just a year ago and was in awe of the women on the judging panel.”   Tunzi went on to take the Miss South Africa crown before winning Miss Universe: “I know what it is like first hand to be in the job that these incredible women are applying for. I am excited to see how that experience will be of help in the judging panel. One woman’s life is about to change and I am a part of a panel that will make that happen. I am nervous but mostly humbled and excited by it. ”   So what will she be looking for in a potential Miss South Africa: “There are different aspects to look out for, but I am mostly looking for someone with raw authenticity and sincerity about who they are. I am not looking for perfection or moral pur
