RUBICON DEBUTED LATEST COLLECTION AT SAFW SHOW AT SA FASHION WEEK

       Thursday Evening saw the opening of South African Fashion Week with the House of Rubicon showcasing their latest collection entitled Mahovhohovho. As with the previous showcase in 2021, the AW’23 season collection is heavily inspired by the late Dickson Ralushai, father to founder and lead designer of Rubicon Hangwani Nengovhela. The collection pays homage to her father’s endless signature of strength and perseverance.   In addition this year’s theme is underlined by the flow of water. There is no denying there is something truly fascinating and powerful about the way water flows, without being compromised by rocks or any other obstacles that hinders its path. SA Fashion Week Autumn/Winter 23 Designer Collections at Mall of Africa in October

South Africa Fashion Week (SAFW) will stage the Autumn/Winter 23 Collections at Mall of Africa, its home of the past three years, in October . Twenty-seven   designers will launch their new collections on the runway from Thursday 20th October to Saturday 22nd October and forty will exhibit at the Trade Show on the 23rd and 24thOctober in the Crystal Court. The family of Quiteria Kekana honour his life in a 50-piece collection. The family of late international fashion designer remembers him the best way they know-how, on the runway. Before his untimely passing due to Multiple myeloma on 17 April 2022, designer, Quiteria was invited to showcase at the Kings and Queens Of Baobab (13 May 2020) in Polokwane and was unable to work on the collection. His motivation to push his dream, even during the roughest times of his illness led his family; brother Thabang Kekana (Quiteria Atelier Creative Director) and Mother Violet Kekana to be inspired to continue his legacy and pick up where he left off. “It is what my brother would have wanted. Even on his last days, he pushed us to continue working,” Thabang says. “He would not have wanted us to just give up and be sad.
