Gauteng-based Budding Filmmakers To Learn More About Smartphone Filmmaking

Not so long ago, making a movie using smartphones may have been a foreign concept. But, young filmmakers, from various townships in Gauteng, are about to learn how using smartphones can benefit them. As a way of taking advantage of the widespread presence of smartphones in  South Africa , two of  Johannesburg ’s bright minds are on a journey to ensure that using such devices in filmmaking cannot continue being an unfamiliar concept. Last Night we had a double dose of some truly excellent performances as the Top 5 Idols SA contestants vied for a place in the Top 4 by singing two songs each. The first performances were cover songs, which are now available on iTunes.  In the second half of the show, the contestants paid homage to US super-producer and songwriter Timbaland. It’s getting tougher and tougher to predict who will be eliminated next as the contestants continue to bring their A-game to the stage.  Idols SA is known for its twists turns and surprises, Last night’s episode was rather disappointing especially to many fans who had hope in the Qwabe Twins, Viggy and Virginia . The 11 th  annual Feather Awards took place last night in downtown Johannesburg,  and as always, it looked like they delivered a memorable evening. Unfortunately yours truly couldn't attend the awards ceremony that was replete with electrifying performances, moving acceptance speeches and tributes made to a range of personalities and institutions – activists, performing artists, sports people, and media organisations who were lauded for flying the  LGBTIQ+   flag high, as well as being an inspiring, amusing, admirable, scandalous or noteworthy personality. “ This year’s event demonstrated the importance of establishing and maintaining a voice that represents the LGBTIQ+ community” comments co-founder of the Feathers, Thami Kotlolo.  “We are a large and diverse community, and the work that The Feather Awards does is part of the dialogue on issues affecting our community.  Every year, the Feathers commits itself to doing more work that articulates what the community is dealing

IdosSA15 Top 7 Last night show was nothing short of butterflies as the Top 7 contestants serenaded us with luuuurve jams. It almost made me miss my ex I never had _ hahahaha Simmy The gorgeous Simmy opened the show with a stellar performance of her new single "" and guuurl did her thing in style. I enjoyed that performance. While this season the girls have dominated, the two remaining guys have been getting some love and tonight was no different Nolo Both Nolo Seodisha and Luyolo Yiba made it into the Top 7 and displayed their soulful best –  Nolo got twitter on the buzz with  Teddy  Pendergrass ’s  Close The Door. Southa Africans y'all are naaaasty and thiiiiiiirsty.  Randall Abrahams said there had never been a better combination of singer and song in response to Nolo’s performance. Unathi Nkayi said it was his best performance yet, calling it phenomenal, while Somizi Mhlongo said it was effortless and smooth. “You killed it!” he exclaimed.  Luyolo Yi
